Hey, guyz! We're staying for 19 days, having only big bikes with us. But we really wanna go visit some of the trails around Whistler too. And Squamish aswell (by bus, 50 min away, right?). Is there anything we should consider to avoid any waists of time and/or energy? Or do you have any recommendations for first timers? ^_^
    Thanks 馃

Some people will stay in Squamish and drive into whistler. Also looking for off season like September/may/June or going midweek could also help with costs as they might be cheaper. Picking weeks where large scale event happen or don't happen will affect cost- ie during pemberton music festival, ironman Canada or crankworx will likely be higher then a week were a smaller event or no event happens. ( I've been told the bike park is very busy during crankworx as well.)

There lots of great mountain biking to be had I'm told. ( I'm go for the first time this summer) . There are other places in Britsh columbia who offer similar mountain biking experiences like sun peaks which is the interior or silver star in Vernon which are cheaper then Whistler. I drive by a billboards for sun peaks daily and they just changed from skiing to mountain biking.
Local bike shops in the Vancouver/Fraser valley/Squamish can recommend cool places to go too.

I hope to go to whistler myself to see crank works – I live like 3.5 hours away from whistler but we will see this year because it so expensive. Finger crossed for no forest fires this year. Last year was really smokey.

I've been going to Whistler every summer since 2014. The bike park is my happy place! Your riding will progress more in 3 days then at home. Some things I've learned: If you have a DUI in the states Canada does not want you in their country. Theft is a big problem. Keep an eye on your gear and bike at all times. Injury's are real. US health insurance does not work in Canada. Buy Canadian health insurance before your trip. Do not stay at an air BNB that does not have air conditioning. Do not drive thru Vancouver city during rush hour. Drive up during the night to whistler. Staying at a resort is expensive but I feel its better value if you want to feel like your bike is secure and you are comfortable. ( IE hot shower/ clean beds).

This has got to be a year or so ago? Love how you guys can sit on a vid and then release it just as I'm thinking how much I want to go ride my bike in Canada! Expensive to watch? Yep…

Lived in Whistler for 3 years and heading back out for a week this summer. The bike park and trails are a must but the Whistler disc golf course is also a must do i think, it's free (need your own discs.), fun and as always great views.

Canada is massive ladies and gents .I鈥檓 on the other side of Canada. Whistler is 4335 km or 2694 miles from where I live. Yes whistler is know as the best. But if you can鈥檛 get to Whistler there are a ton of places just as beautiful and Gnarly in The true North Strong and Free!!!! Hey at the end of the day it doesn鈥檛 matter where you ride your bike as long as you ride your bike!!

  8. Max Nordstr枚m says:

Rode downhill for the first time in my life in Whistler 2006. Couldn't even open the toilet door the day after my whole body was a mess 馃槀
Now I have been waiting 13 years to go back but never had the resources or the opportunity yet.. Next year I have to go 馃槶
