My favourite THINGS TO DO in Iceland::

► Reykjavik & Golden Circle

Iceland’s capital metropolis and residential to 122,000 folks. Reykjavik is the most important metropolis in Iceland and most traveler’s leaping off level for the Ring Highway and Golden Circle.

The Golden Circle is a well-liked vacationer driving route in southern Iceland, which covers about 300 kilometers looping from Reykjavík into the southern uplands of Iceland and again. There are various Golden Circle excursions, however I’d suggest doing this with a rental automobile. Featured sights embody Geysir, Blue Lagoon and Gullfoss waterfall.

One in every of my favourite issues to do in Iceland on this area is the Reykjadalur Scorching Springs – A fantastic and distinctive geothermal river close to the city of Hveragerði. It takes about one hour to hike as much as the new springs, so be ready.

► Central Highlands

► Northern Iceland

Eyjafjörður Fjord – Top-of-the-line locations in Iceland to see the Northern Lights. Northern Iceland has little or no gentle air pollution, so monitoring the Northern Lights over the Fjords is a superb thought.

Ásbyrgi Canyon – This huge canyon was fashioned method again after the ice age as melting glacier floods ripped big divots into the earth and left this stunning valley and rock partitions in its path.

Northern Lights – In an effort to have the most effective probability of seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland, try this web site we used to trace the cloud protection and aurora exercise.

Dettifoss Waterfall – Stated to be Europe’s strongest waterfall, and we’re getting a novel perspective – by moonlight.

► Western Iceland & Snæfellsnes Peninsula

Godafoss Waterfall – An expansive horseshoe-shaped cascade that’s most likely my favourite waterfall of all the journey.

► Japanese Iceland

Hverir or Namafjall geothermal area – Positioned in northeastern Iceland across the geothermal area of Lake Mývatn – an enormous space of sizzling springs, sulfur crystals, and boiling mud pots.

► Southern Iceland

Seljalandsfoss – A preferred waterfall in South Iceland, and the one waterfall (that I do know of) in Iceland you can stroll behind.

Skogafoss – Large curtain waterfall with a drop of 60 meters and a width of 25 meters, additionally in Southern Iceland.

Reynisfjara – Unimaginable black sand seaside close to Vik with basalt sea stacks to at least one facet and rock formations jetting out of the ocean. Get right here early to essentially recognize it.

My trip to Iceland urgghhh. It is a beautiful country, highly recommend. My family left our home in Ireland for 5 weeks away. We didn't fly. We drove to Denmark (that took 4 days each way) where we caught a 3 day ferry trip through the Faro islands to Island. Spent like a week and a half there then spent three days in the Faro Islands. In Iceland we did the ring road around the entire country in our own van and camped every night. Would I do to Iceland again? Definitely. Would I do the way we did before? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it? Yes, if you're one of those crazy outdoor people. When I go back to Iceland, I'm going to fly there and stay in airbnbs.
Oh and that underwater pool, my Dad made tea in that. It used to be a popular swimming spot before the water got too hot.

What is the best way to travel to Iceland from America? For instance, I’m in Atlanta so what airline is recommended? How many layovers or connecting flights are needed? I was looking at Delta and their price was $5000 with 3 different stops? Is that normal?

  3. Lex Universe says:

I'm flying in today, I'm really eager to see what it will look like 🙂 I can imagine there won't be so many tourists now, even the entrance fee to the blue lagoon seems to be a lot lower than most guides say 🙂

Been to Iceland just last month and the road closures you experience during snowstorms are scary. Better be prepared if you plan visit there during winter as A LOT of road closure happen during snowstorms.

Nothing against the blogger, but I thought Iceland was a waste of time. Nothing special. After traveling so many countries, Iceland was a trip not worth it. I actually regret spending my travel money on this country. Cheers.

Who would recommend the blue lagoon? Waste of money? Or something you should go to because how often do you go to Iceland!? Trying to decide if I should go when I’m there in October or not!

  8. Damo Spress says:

Hey mate, loved the video! I’m off to Iceland soon so it was a good informative watch for me. I have a question on something you didn’t mention that I hope you have some knowledge about. Thrihnukagigur volcano. I was considering paying the hefty price to hike into it. Do you have an opinion or any word of mouth reviews from it? Cheers mate!

  9. Perla Calas says:

Great video and wonderful information. We will be there the first week in April and it has proven difficult to find out what is open so we can plan. Will the northern road be accessible so we can go all the way around? It not, with 7 days, do you suggest go west first, then east? Lastly, I am afraid to book our accommodations ahead of time. Is that advisable in early in April? Thank you so much!

  10. Marta K. says:

There is beer spa in the north, circa 5 h from Reykjavik.
Eat fish and lamb soup, around 12 dollars.
Some Polish people rent cars for 8,000 ISK per day, including everything (no debit card needed).
Blue Lagoon is overrated. Do not go there. There are more pleasant and cheaper places.
Visit in October and March, if you do not want to get crowdy.
